Dr Kayleigh Garthwaite, author of Hunger pains: Life inside foodbank Britain, is a Leverhulme Trust funded researcher in the Centre for Health and Inequalities Research, Durham University, UK. Kayleigh explores issues of health inequalities, welfare reform, and austerity through ethnographic research. She is co-author of Poverty and insecurity: Life in 'low-pay, no-pay' Britain (Policy Press, 2012), winner of the 2013 British Academy Peter Townsend Award.

Allen, Chris
Chris Allen is Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Birmingham. For the past decade, he has been at the forefront of academic research into the phenomenon of Islamophobia. As well as appearing regularly in the media, Chris has worked alongside Government in an advisory capacity. His research interests include: the role of faith and religion in the public and political spaces; issues around diversity, multiculturalism and super-diversity; equalities legislation, policy and practice; inclusion, exclusion, integration and cohesion.

Altink, Sietske
Sietske Altink has an MA in philosophy and was a researcher at the comparative study of prostitution policy. Since the 1980s she has researched prostitution (for the ministry of social affairs), worked with migrants at the Foundation against Trafficking in Women and managed the Dutch NGO ‘ De Rode Draad” (Red Thread). She is a key figure in the prostitution debate in the Netherlands and is sought out for her wide knowledge of prostitution policy for lectures, presentations and media appearances.
