Social Research Methods and Practices

We publish books for students, scholars and practitioners.

Our social research methods programme publishes a range of books, from undergraduate course texts and practical ‘how-to’ guides, through to more advanced titles aimed at established researchers. We have published several successful books on qualitative and creative research methods, but we are now expanding our catalogue to cover the full range of approaches. Of particular interest are books that are concerned with methodology, as well as skills- and practice-based books.

Please contact our editor to discuss your next book idea – see below for more information.

Meet the Editor

Paul Stevens, Publisher

I joined Bristol in 2017, bringing with me over two decades of experience in academic book publishing. I took over our social research methods publishing in 2022, and I am currently working to expand our catalogue in this area. While we are probably best known for publishing some excellent books in creative research methods, I’m keen to develop a more complete collection of books and I’m also interested in establishing new series.

Whether you want to discuss a specific book project or just want to learn about Bristol’s publishing in general, then please get in touch. You can contact me at paul.stevens@bristol.ac.uk and visit our author hub to download our proposal guidelines.
